Hair Makeovers - Application and Removal of Hair Extensions If you are thinking about getting hair extensions, you may be interested in seeing exactly how hair extensions are attached to your hair. Below are pictures from Hope Dworazyck's extension services, along with a description of what is happening.       Attachment Photos Step 1: A small section of the client's hair is separated where the hair extension will be attached. Step 2: The extension is placed on top of the clients hair.   Step 3: The heated application tool is placed on the bonding material at the tip of the extension.   Step 4: The application tool softens the bonding material.   Step 5: Once the material is soft enough it is rolled around the clients hair, creating a solid bond.   Step 6: The extension is now attached.  See how the bond is very small and solid. Removal Photos Step 1: A removal solution is applied to the hair extension, which will dissolve the bond and help the extension release from the client's hair. Step 2: Removal tongs are used to apply pressure to the bonding points Step 3: This slight pressure will loosen the bond and cause it to release from the client's natural hair. Step 4: The tongs are then used to hold the client's natural hair in place. Step 5: The hair extension is removed by simply pulling the hair in a downward motion. After the hair extensions are removed, it is possible to re-use the hair again for the next attachment.  You must first start with quality human hair and take proper care of the extensions.
